Effortless Heat Pump Control: An Overview of Sinopé Technologies' Latest Smart Interfaces

As we traverse the 21st century, the demand for efficient and smart technologies continues to surge. Sinopé Technologies, a pioneer in this technological revolution, is once again redefining the standards with its latest innovation. This post aims to delve into the details of the company's newest unveiling - two state-of-the-art smart interfaces designed to remotely control ductless heat pumps.

Sinopé Technologies' new interfaces are more than just control units; they seamlessly merge with the heat pumps, deriving power directly from them. The integration of these smart features comes without any interference or intermediary, as expressed by Maxime Labonté, the Chief Commercial Officer at Sinopé Technologies.

These innovative interfaces have the ability to transform non-smart ductless heat pumps into smart ones, enabling remote control. They can also interlock separate heating systems controlled by Sinopé thermostats like electric baseboards, heated floors, and air conditioning. This prevents paradoxical situations where baseboard heaters warm up while the heat pump is in cooling mode, a common issue during transitional seasons.

Sinopé has placed a strong emphasis on energy efficiency in the design of these interfaces. They possess smart settings that prevent heating or cooling beyond a specific outdoor temperature, thus avoiding energy waste. This function also maximizes the prioritization of other heating systems when ductless heat pumps exhibit limited performance in extreme cold.

The ductless heat pump interfaces are also compatible with Sinopé's Éco feature, which aligns the operation of smart devices with power utilities' peak events and time-of-use rates. This synergy further enhances energy efficiency.

The control features of these interfaces extend beyond temperature regulation. They include time, presence (geofencing), and device automation, scenes, and voice control using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Sinopé's ductless heat pump control solution was initially designed to meet a new energy efficiency standard in Quebec. The standard, effective from December 27, 2021, mandated that certain buildings install devices to prevent simultaneous operation of heating and air conditioning.

This solution has proven its mettle in multi-residential buildings for over three years. When combined with the Sinopé TH1134ZB/HC line voltage thermostat, these interfaces 1) eliminate the physical remote control of ductless heat pumps by centralizing all manual control of separate systems in a single thermostat and; 2) prioritize the heating source based on the effectiveness threshold of the heat pump.

In conclusion, Sinopé Technologies continues to set the bar high with the launch of these innovative interfaces. By seamlessly merging with the heat pumps, they not only enhance control but also significantly increase energy efficiency.

As Sinopé Technologies continues to innovate, the future of ductless heat pump control and energy efficiency looks brighter than ever. With these smart interfaces, we can anticipate a future where smart technologies are the norm, not the exception.
