In the ever-evolving sphere of business aviation, connectivity has become a game changer. As the leading provider of inflight air-to-ground (ATG) connectivity, SmartSky Networks is revolutionizing the industry. Today, we are thrilled to announce that Davinci Jets, our esteemed sales and installation partner, has completed its third SmartSky STC installation on a customer-owned Citation Latitude, marking a pivotal moment in connectivity advancement.
This SmartSky Flagship™ equipped aircraft is back in service, with FAA Supplemental Type certification anticipated in the coming months. This development paves the way for SmartSky availability for over 200 in-service Latitude models.
The Latitude installation is a significant part of Davinci's strategic plan to equip the majority of its managed fleet with SmartSky connectivity. This demonstrates Davinci's commitment to delivering the inflight connected experience that its customers have been yearning for years.
Upon the Latitude's return to service, passengers reported an unprecedented inflight connectivity experience, connecting six devices simultaneously - a true testament to the system’s multi-Mbps capability. They labelled this experience as "connected freedom".
"Demand for SmartSky is growing in the marketplace because customers expect to be continuously and reliably connected even while in transit," says Eric Legvold, CEO of Davinci Jets. As pioneers in the business aviation sector, we are proud to elevate our customers' inflight experience with the next-generation ATG connectivity solution.
The successful installation was a combined effort of Davinci Jets Services, our full-service MRO, and Liberty Partners of Okmulgee, OK, who provided the engineering support. This collaboration reinforces our dedication to delivering the best service to our clients.
Working with Davinci Jets has proven to be a rewarding experience. "Their commitment to delivering the best service as both a management and MRO provider has made them a reliable source for any owner operator looking to upgrade their aircraft," says Rich Pilock, VP of Connectivity Sales for SmartSky.
SmartSky's portfolio boasts a lengthy roster of STCs, with more than a dozen certifications in progress. This positions us at the forefront of the future of inflight connectivity, ready to take business aviation to the next level.
