Sustainability Meets Strength: Wagenborg Nedlift Adds XCMG’s 60-Ton Hybrid Crane to Its Fleet

The world of construction has witnessed an impressive leap towards sustainability with the introduction of XCMG Group's groundbreaking 60-ton mobile telescopic boom crane, the XCA60_EV. Unveiled on January 12, 2024, this masterpiece of engineering is the first of its kind and is poised to revolutionize lifting solutions within the industry.

Wagenborg Nedlift, a frontrunner in the global construction industry, has been instrumental in realizing this evolutionary leap. With their emphasis on sustainable development, they issued a tender for a green crane in 2019, thereby marking the industry's shift towards a greener future.

The hybrid crane, a powerful combination of diesel and hydraulic systems, was initially unveiled at the Bauma 2022 in Germany, surprising industry experts and enthusiasts alike. The crane was a direct response to Wagenborg Nedlift's need for a heavier, more capable machine.

Throughout 2023, Wagenborg Nedlift conducted rigorous testing of the crane, providing valuable feedback that resulted in significant enhancements and the subsequent introduction of version 2.0.

Brian Geerdink, the primary operator during the testing phase, extolled the crane's advantages. From its low noise levels to its all-day operational capability, the XCA60_EV outperformed conventional cranes.

The XCA60_EV has successfully met all necessary operational standards for the Western European market, including the CE certification and recognition from the TCVT, the Dutch certification inspection agency.

With the EN13000 certification and an impending inspection by the Dutch Vehicle Authority, the crane ensures full compliance with all regulatory requirements, providing a seamless transition into the market.

Wagenborg Nedlift's successful collaboration with XCMG has resulted in a crane that not only meets all legal requirements but also fulfills their own aspirations towards sustainable development.

The XCA60_EV is set to be a game-changer in construction, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable future. With its scheduled delivery in Europe this spring and operations beginning in the summer, the crane is set to take the industry by storm.

The introduction of the XCA60_EV demonstrates the possibility of marrying sustainability with efficiency, promising a future where the construction industry leads the way in green practices.
